Aguaje fruit looks a lot like snake fruit as It has a scaly sort of skin on the outside. Although They are both palm fruits they are not part of the same genus. In fact, the Trees of these two look quite different. the snake fruit is kind of clusters at the bottom of the plant Whereas the Aguaje Fruit tree is like a big tall tree and the fruit grows in a cluster at the top of it.
The Aguaje fruit looks very creamy looking from the inside more like Egg Fruit or a kind of cheesy looking.
Aguaje fruit: How does it taste?
Aguaje Fruit has a really complex and interesting flavour. it’s like a three-course meal. the first flavour you can get is like a buttery cheesy kind of taste in like a really good way like some fruit tastes cheesy but it doesn’t taste really good because it doesn’t have the fat content but this has a fat content that actually makes it taste rich and buttery.
the second flavour is more of like a fruit taste like an apple but also with some tartness to it like like a granny smith apple and then the third flavour like the aftertaste of this is cinnamon it’s got a spicy cinnamon sort of taste so it comes at you in stages but when you put it all together this tastes kind of like apple pie.
The tree of Aguaje Fruit
The tree presents a spherical crown and in natural conditions, it can reach 35–40 m in height. Moreover, The straight stalk is cylindrical and smooth, with a diameter of 30 to 60 cm. Its roots grow down to about 60 cm deep and then develop horizontally reaching as far as 40 meters. the tree can take 10 to 15 years to mature.
According to ResearchGate. The fruits, weighing on average 50 g, grow in large racemes. Each raceme holds an average of 800 to 1,000 fruits, but it can reach up to 2,000 fruits. About three or four racemes are found per Buriti (Aguaje) tree.
